Q & A’s with Luca Presti

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Work hard, smart, and keep your expectations low. It’s tough to be in the music industry, but this is what has helped me stay humble throughout my career. The lows don’t hit as hard whenever you set your expectations low, but the highs feel so much more deserved.

Are there any notable songs, or artists you’ve written for we know?

Sure! I’ve written/produced songs for Keem Isaiah, Milow, La Fouine, Farid Bang, T-pain, Wiz Khalifa, and many more.

What is your biggest release to date?

“Howling at the moon” by “Milow”. I remember writing this with Milow and not being sure about the final version. But it’s always the songs you’d least expect to blow up, that actually do. Next thing I knew it hit number 1 on the charts in Europe, played on the radio in over 40 countries, and thousands of people sang along at concerts. What an amazing feeling that is! I remember while on a road trip driving through Europe, I heard the song play on the radio in every country we drove through. Thinking back on that moment gives me chills.

Are you working on any new music right now?

Absolutely, I have new music coming out soon with major artists, but am more excited about giving up-and-coming artists the opportunity to hop on my beats for a fraction of what majors pay me.

Describe the biggest obstacle you’ve had to overcome as an artist?

The music business is a tough business to work in, and I had to face a lot of obstacles throughout my career in order to get where I am today. But the biggest obstacle for me to overcome was the move to LA from Belgium. It was difficult starting over in a new place across the world, sleeping on couches, not knowing anything or anyone, and leaving my family and friends behind. But I had a dream, and that gave me the motivation to follow through. And for anyone overthinking major steps and risks towards their goals: stop thinking about it and go do it. Honestly. If you fail, view it as a great opportunity to learn from your mistakes and get closer to your success. There’s no success without failure!
