What’s Next for Ryan Coogler and Kendrick Lamar after Black Panther?!
Marvel’s “Black Panther” has become the highest-grossing superhero movie of all times in the U.S. Along with Director, Ryan Coogler, and phenomenal cast… We’d say the very talented Kendrick Lamar had a little to do with the success of the film, and continuing to push the culture forward.
Since the film opened on Feb. 16, “Black Panther” has continued to crush milestones, including passing the $1 billion mark at the global box office in just 26 days. It made $12.9 million at the international box office this weekend, bringing its total worldwide gross to $1.23 billion.
THE SOUND TRACK
Kendrick Lamar produced the film’s curated soundtrack, titled Black Panther: The Album, along with Top Dawg Entertainment founder Anthony Tiffith. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler chose Lamar for the project because his “artistic themes align with those we explore in the film.”
Lamar has writing credits on all 14 tracks, and he performs on five of them. The soundtrack features collaborators such as SZA, The Weeknd, ScHoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, Ab-Soul, Future, and Zacari.
The Black Panther soundtrack currently sits atop the Billboard 200.
